Dr. Kyriaki Karidoyanes FitzGerald teaches “Explorations in Eastern Christian Spirituality” at the Sheptytsky Institute

July 9, 2018

On July 4, Dr. Kyriaki Karidoyanes FitzGerald began teaching a three-work course entitled “Explorations in Eastern Christian Spirituality” at the Sheptytsky Institute in Toronto, Canada.  The course serves as a broad survey of the ascetico-mystical theology (Spirituality) of the Eastern Churches, as represented by a multiplicity of authors and texts (using both secondary and primary texts in English translation). The course uses the writings of the Desert Fathers and Mothers through the works of prominent Greek authors – Basil the Great, Symeon the New Theologian, Gregory Palamas etc. – to modern interpreters of the Tradition. Dr. Presb. Kyriaki FitzGerald, co-founder and executive director of SCV, is pictured below with some of the students from the class on the steps of the Sheptytsky Institute. Click HERE to read more!
